Alexander Prokhorov, Bass baritone singer, pianist, choral conductor, producer, vocal coach, artistic director of CLT and Music Director and Vocal coach of young talented studio LT.
Mr. Prokhorov is a vocal instructor and founder of unique method of vocal training and performance called “1,2,3 Sing” that he is practicing with his vocal students as well as presenting series of master classes and performance lectures throughout the United States and Europe.
Mr. Prokhorov’s voice teaching method and skills were praised by national newspapers including the Boston Globe, National Radio and TV stations, as well as he was featured in the national TV show “Young Marvels” by Ovation TV as a teacher of vocal prodigies. Mr. Prokhorov’s students performed at America’s Got Talent show before the celebrity judges, received grand prix at various vocal competitions at Carnegie Hall, Jordan Hall, and other famous competitions. He constantly presides on a Jury panel of national and international Competitions
A graduate of Moscow Conservatory College and Boston Opera Institute,
Mr. Prokhorov has a Master’s Degree in Vocal performance and he is a professional opera singer (Bass-Baritone) and a pianist. His operatic roles include Don Pasquale with Boston University Opera Institute, Raimondo with Boston Bel Canto Opera, Ashby with the Boston Music Academy, and Ferrando with Boston Bel Canto Opera. Alexander’s solo concert appearances range from famous Jordan Hall of New England Conservatory in Boston, Stravinsky’s Les Noces with Ohio State University Chamber Orchestra, to Handel’s Messiah with the Sapphire Coast Music Festival in Australia. Mr. Prokhorov is also a celebrated performer of Russian and Gypsy’s romances in the USA and Europe.
Mr. Prokhorov is also the founder and artistic director of Commonwealth Lyric Theater as well as the founder and vocal instructor of Lucky Ten Young Talent Studio. Mr. Prokhorov has staged with critical acclaim operas often featuring world class singers from the Bolshoi and Metropolitan opera companies. In the summer of 2013 and 2014, respectively, his opera productions of “Aleko” by Sergey Rakhmaninov and “Mozart and Salieri” by Rimsky Korsakov, were featured in Boston Globe, received great acclaim from the critics, and won a 1st prize of the National Opera Association. Mr. Prokhorov also produced a several operas performed by children, which included Mozart's "The Magic Flute", Glinka's "Ruslan and Ludmila", and Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance. These Children' productions of the operas were so unique that even though children's opera category did not exist as part of the competition,the National Opera Association still awarded them an honorable mention.
